OECD STRI app for iPhone and iPad
The OECD Services Trade Restrictiveness Index (STRI) is a policy tool that identifies regulatory measures that restrict trade. Policy makers and regulators can use the STRI in targeted ways through identification of best practice to improve the domestic policy environment, negotiate international agreements and open up international trade in services, among others.
The STRI comprises a database, containing regulations currently in force, on the basis of which STRI indices are calculated. The indices are measured on a scale of 0 to 1, where 0 is completely open and 1 is completely closed. A handy STRI simulator allows the user to explore the impact of changes in any of the measures at a fairly detailed level. It also facilitates comparison of a selected country against a range of other countries, in a particular sector.
